I was very active as a child and interested in all kinds of sporting activities. When I started Taekwon-Do at the age of 6, I was immediately enthusiastic about it. The mix of physical exertion in the form of combat, strength and conditioning training as well as mental exertion in the form of technique, concentration and stamina was just right for me. I was also impressed that although Taekwon-Do is an individual sport, people supported and motivated each other in training and competitions.

As a trainer, I would like to pass these experiences on to future students and bring them closer to the values of Taekwon-Do. In this way, I would like to help young people develop an awareness of themselves and their physical and mental powers and abilities.

Taekwon-Do is a very special sport for me. It gives you so much more than just physical fitness. Taekwon-Do caught me in many situations in my life and gave me new strength. In stressful times it was a balance that allowed me to keep calm. During my high school and university studies, I almost lost my stamina if I hadn't had Taekwon-Do. And I would certainly not get on so well with my parents if Taekwon-Do had not taught me the necessary respect for other people and, above all, the parents. Taekwon-Do is a meaningful leisure activity that takes you further in life because you learn important skills.

As a trainer, I want to pass on my skills and experiences that I have gained in life in a wide variety of ways. For me it is exciting to see how what I have learned grows and grows. I want both children and adults to enjoy training and learn from me. Because it makes me very proud when I find my athletic Taekwon-Do influences in other people and they say: "My trainer is Jessica Dürrmann."
